In 1970, attending the FBI Academy, in Quantico the author was sworn in as an FBI Special Agent, given credentials, a badge and a gun and started his 32-years of public service in the FBI.

FBI Special Agents Are Real People is about special people who everyday put their lives on the line to protect those they’ve sworn to serve. They reflect the society around them. Their backgrounds are as varied as the people they serve and protect. They have feelings, cry and laugh. They are shot at and as a matter of policy only shoot as a last resort … to protect themselves or somebody else. They can bleed and and die as easily as anyone. When they leave for work, neither they and/or their loved ones know whether they’ll return alive in one piece. They’re both saints and sinners. The split-second decisions they make at times can easily haunt them, as many including judges and attorneys will rehash their actions … sometimes over and over again and often for years to come. The decisions they make can be the difference between whether they’ll be judged by twelve or carried out by six. Each day they hope and pray their actions will be just and correct and they’ll make it home to their loving families.
