He is currently the owner of Rinek and Associates, a private investigative and consulting business specializing in comprehensive investigations for both private and public entities. Since retiring in 2006, Mr. Rinek has also engaged as an entrepreneur in a startup company dedicated toward child internet safety, and as an adjunct college professor.

Rinek and Associates has been retained to address both high profile, and discreet complex investigations. Services offered include expert testimony in matters concerning violent crime, criminal profiling, forensic accounting to detect questioned financial schemes, identify individuals engaged in questioned financial practices, and Equal Employment Investigations. Rinek and Associates has been retained by public entities such as California Special Districts, School Districts, and for private investigative needs as dictated by the retaining individual. Interview and Interrogation is a common reason for retention and is based on the international recognition of Jeff Rinek for his accomplishments and unusual, consistent success obtaining information in difficult interview environments.

Jeff Rinek is credited with obtaining the confession from serial killer Cary Stayner who is on California’s death row for the infamous “Yosemite Murders” in 1999 which involved the abduction and murders of two juvenile and two adult females. Jeff Rinek’s success in interview and investigation has been reported in media to include, books, television shows, newspapers and magazines. In 2010 Jeff Rinek appeared as a monthly guest for his expertise and notoriety, on the Sacramento morning television show “SAC and Co”.

Jeff Rinek is currently collaborating on a book, depicting his life and accomplishments that has been purchased by a publisher. In the book a new interview technique which was introduced by Jeff Rinek has proven successful and serves to advance the discipline of interview and interrogation. Additionally, a new episode of a highly reviewed true crime series is being developed, and Jeff has been approached for developing other similar projects. In 2003, Jeff Rinek received the California Sexual Assault Investigators Association “Investigator of the Year” award, as such was the first FBI Special Agent to have received this honor.

Jeff Rinek is also known, and distinguished for his compassion for victims and people who have been harmed by the actions of others, as well as his passion for seeking justice and closure for all people involved in unfortunate circumstance.

As an FBI Special Agent, Jeff Rinek served as the primary coordinator for the National Center for the Analysis of Violent Crime (NCAVC) which is commonly referred to as Criminal Profiling. Jeff Rinek was certified as a Criminal Profiler. Additionally, he served as the primary coordinator for Crime Against Children, the Violent Criminal Apprehension Program (VICAP), and the Kidnapping Coordinator. Jeff Rinek participated in specialized training for White Collar Crime, and Foreign Counter Intelligence. Jeff also served as a Sniper on the FBI’s Sacramento SWAT Team and as a co-pilot in the FBI’s Aviation Program.

"Members on this website are “retired” FBI agents, many who are “licensed” Private Investigators [PIs], independent contractors and vendors who promote and sell their services as consultants to members of the public, public and/or private industry and/or local, state and/or federal government.

As consultants, they “contract” out their services to conduct criminal/civil investigations, provide litigation support, conduct due diligence inquires, provide executive protection and conduct background screenings, offer expert opinions concerning investigations, do electronic sweeps and counter measures, provide drug screenings, offer forensic accounting services, and conduct surveillances, as well as locate assets and/or conduct other research.

As a result, members command fees for their services.  This is “not” a free service.

Before any services will be expended, most members will require a “nonrefundable” retainer fee totaling $1500 - $2500.  The amount of the retainer fee will be set by members during contract negotiations.  And some members command “nonrefundable” retainer fees totaling $5000.
