Teaching elementary school and thinking about submitting her art portfolio to the Los Angeles School of Art & Design, in June 1983, Nancy did an about face and joined the FBI–becoming a Special Agent assigned to the Sacramento Field Division.
Initially, working Violent Crime and Drug investigations, she later transferred to the While Collar Crime squad where she developed a talent investigating and prosecuting individuals who pedaled fraudulent investment schemes. Not to be out done by her male counterparts, she took pride becoming proficient with a handgun. Asked to assist with an undercover operation involving the California State Legislature, she was instrumental developing a case against a long time Senator who took bribes in exchange for supporting legislation being heard in the Banking & Finance Committee.

Seeking a diversified career, when the opportunity arose she became the official Recruiter for the Sacramento Division. As Recruiter, she oversaw background investigations involving agents, as well as investigations involving presidential appointments, e.g. U.S. District Court Judge, U.S. Marshall and/or the United States Attorney.
Excelling in minority recruitment, Nancy received the prestigious Director Award and was repeatedly recognized for running an outstanding recruitment program. In 2012, she retired from the FBI and now resides in Gold River, California with her husband, resuming an artistic career doing watercolor portraits.
